Meet Joel

In early September, "Grandpa" shared Joel's story with Car Seat Professionals around the country, and asked for information and guidance in his research as to why his Grandson suffered such a serious injury, while his mother was diligent about car seat safety, from a 35 mph crash.
Now "Grandpa" has made a video and asked us to help him share Joel's story.

On August 30, 2008, Joel and his mother were involved in a frontal car crash, at 35 mph. Joel, at 18 mos & 33lbs, broke his neck! Why?

This website will touch on what happened during that accident. But more importantly, what was learned from this tragic event, and what other parents may want to know to prevent it!!

wow!! Thanks to a post you put up earlier I now strap my kids in tighter and put the plastic hook way up on Jacob's chest instead of down closer to his belly. What a tragedy a little boy has had to suffer like this but a huge thank-you to his Grandfather for getting his story out and to you for posting safety info. on your blog.

Wow! That is something I would have never thought of. I've always just assumed if they are in their car seat they are safe.

Thanks for posting that!
